The most versatile Mahl Stick you will ever use
As an artist, you face challenges, not the least of which, are the physical demands that your work puts on your body. Using the right easel can help relieve things, but for most of us, there is still the problem of working in fine detail, and that is where the mahl stick becomes a necessity.
If you’ve experienced pain and discomfort or found it harder to control your pen or brush while working, you are not alone. These are just some of the problems many artists have reported while painting:
- Unsteady hand when attempting fine detail brushwork
- Smudged paintings while adding delicate finishing touches
- Increasingly difficult when painting straight or curved lines
- Unable to hold or control the brush as you used to
- Arm and wrist ache while painting
- Unable to paint for extended periods of time
These are symptoms experienced by most artists and are unlikely to improve as time goes by. Many find they actually become worse, making it increasingly difficult to pursue their passion for painting. But this is exactly the type of problem Artristic has committed to solving.
Our mission and how we strive to meet it
At Artristic we believe you shouldn’t have to suffer for your art. Our company mission is to reimagine everyday products used by artists in a way that removes restrictions, frees creativity and alleviates the pain and discomfort experienced by many.
Traditional mahl sticks (sometimes referred to as a maul stick or artist’s bridge) were designed primarily to protect the surface of a painting while working. For those who use a traditional hand bridge there is the added benefit of increased brush control, assisting with fine detail work. But the majority of these sticks do little to improve comfort or ability for the user.
We talked to artists around the world about these problems, then took on the challenge of designing an artist’s hand bridge, or mahl stick that could turn back the tide on the discomfort of painting and drawing. We designed and tested dozens of prototypes, then finally created an easy to use ‘artist friendly’ mahl stick that greatly alleviates and often completely removes many of the unpleasant symptoms experienced by artists.
What people say about our Mahl Stick
We love to hear from Artristic artists, and often receive emails with comments and photographs showing us the amazing results achieved with our easel and mahl stick.
Our friend Mia Oehlmann contacted us to share her experience with her new Artristic Mahl Stick.
I’ve just finished a painting with a lot of detail in the middle of the canvas. So your Mahl stick was just what the doctor ordered. It was terrific and I am in love with the foam pad. It makes a soft spot for the hand to rest on and is nice and warm on a chillier day or night of painting.”
“My latest piece of work would have been near impossible without your Mahl stick.”
Thank you again!
Cheers,
– Mia Oehlmann
